Records continue to be broken almost every night in the NBA and this time, it’s thanks to the Dallas Mavericks star, Luka Doncic.
The Slovenian now holds the save for the most consecutive 30-point triple-double after a huge performance against the Detroit Pistons in Dallas’ 142-124 victory on Saturday.
This is Dončić’s sixth consecutive game where he has posted these incredible statistics, allowing him to surpass Russell Westbrook – the two men previously shared the record with five each.
After finishing the game with 39 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd was impressed with his star player’s performance.
“It just shows where he’s playing right now,” Kidd told reporters after the game. “The level he’s at to be able to score and also to be able to find his teammates and finally be able to rebound the ball to help us on the defensive end.”
The Mavericks will be happy that this performance from “Luka Magic” resulted in a victory after a difficult streak of late. This is now Dallas’ second straight victory after beating the Miami Heat 114-108 on Thursday.
Speaking after the Miami game, Kidd was equally pleased with Dončić’s performance.
“We can’t take this young man for granted,” Kidd said, according to the Mavericks. “You see something as rare as a Picasso. Every night he does something.
