Luka Doncic was forced to abandon Wednesday’s match against Warriors of the Golden State due to a left hamstring injury. Now his status for the Dallas MavericksThursday’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder is unknown.

The head coach Jason Kidd also didn’t provide many details, sparking more concerns about their superstar’s availability.

Dallas Mavericks Star Luka Doncic Suffers from an injury

For those who missed it, Doncic left Wednesday’s game in the fourth quarter with a hamstring injury and did not return. While the Mavericks held on to win 109-99 without him, his condition was understandably a major topic of discussion after the contest.

Kidd provided more details on what happened in mind on Doncic’s exit, via Grant Afseth of DallasBasketball.com, saying, “He gave me the signal that his hammer was tight, so we took him out.”

However, the Mavericks head coach said he did not have more information on the severity of Doncic’s injury, only sharing that he is undergoing more tests to get an evaluation of his condition.

Kidd characterized Doncic’s injury as a sore hamstring, although everything else regarding his availability remains a question mark.

“I will I will have a better answer tomorrow. We will see. It’s a fluid thing. We’re talking about it now. We’ll know in a few minutes if he’s going or not,” Kidd added.

Luka Doncic injury could be problematic for Dallas Mavericks

Indeed, Dallas Mavericks fans are hoping that Luka Doncic’s injury is not serious and that he will be available to play against the Oklahoma City Thunder THURSDAY.

After all, without Doncic, it will be very difficult for the Mavericks to beat the best team in the Western Conference – at least in terms of records.

Doncic is the center of Dallas’ offense, and without him, they lose much of their offensive identity. This is the problem with such a heliocentric attack.

Of course, the Mavs still have Kyrie Irving take over on offense without Luka, but he alone won’t be enough to make up for Doncic’s 34.6 points, 9.1 rebounds and 9.9 assists sets up every evening . Not to mention they’re facing a Thunder team with their own MVP contender in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

For now, Mavericks fans can only pray that Doncic’s injury isn’t serious. As for the team, it can only stay ready by preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.
