Many basketball departures past and present have been on display during Goran Dragic’s farewell match “Dragon’s Night”. Former and Current NBA MVPsworld champions and international stars linked to send now-retired Slovenian All-Star on the right track.
Luka Doncic, Dragic’s roommate during their time together on the Slovenian national team, was the other captain. He made a excellent writing job a talented team that included Nikola Jokic, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Dirk Nowitzki, Robin Lopez and other stars.
Team Luka had a team that could dominate on paper, but it was Team Gogi’s turn. The team, consisting of Dragic, Steve Nash, Nikola Vucevic, Vladimir Radmanovic and Chris Bosh, took the victory.
The dynamic duo of Jokic and Luka went to work in the first half and took a five-point lead into the break. Dragic’s team responded by winning the charity game 106-86.
It’s safe to say that Team Doncic may have taken their foot off the gas late in the game.
It was a special night for Dragic and Slovenian basketball fans as they saw a player who inspired a generation of European guards lace up his shoes one last time.

“At the time, we always said that Europeans only had big players who could play, and it was important for European guards, that time with Tony Parker and Goran coming in who showed that European guards can lead a team,” Nowitzki said in a tribute video shown during the game.
The event provided a glimpse into what Dragic has meant to players like Doncic, and he received as much love for who he is off the court as he did on it.
“Off the court, he was the first one to come up to me and ask me about family. He’s a big-hearted guy who always wants to help and was a great player and a great competitor,” Nowitzki said.
