Luka Doncic and the The Dallas Mavericks enjoyed plenty of success during the 2023-24 campaign, but he will ultimately be remembered for his crushing defeat in the 2024 NBA Finals at the hands of the Boston Celtics. But now that they’ve come so close to the top of the mountain, Doncic and the rest of the Mavs will be highly motivated to find their way back.
In what seems to be becoming an annual event, Concerns have recently arisen over Doncic’s weight. ahead of the new season. However, some recent photos of Doncic should ease those concerns, as the superstar guard seems to be in fantastic shape as he continues to prepare for Dallas’ 2024-25 campaign.

If there’s one flaw in Doncic’s game early in his career, it’s that he’s struggled with stamina and fitness. He’s already arrived at training camp in poor shape, leading fans to be overly concerned about his weight during the offseason. Those concerns have resurfaced, but hopefully these photos that appear to show Doncic in great shape will put them to rest.

At this point, there is very little reason to doubt that Doncic will be around and playing for the Mavericks next season. He is coming off another incredibly impressive campaign last year (33.9 ppg, 9.8 apg, 9.2 rpg, 48.7 rpg), which saw him lead the league in scoring, while earning his fifth straight All-Star selection and First Team All-NBA honors.
As long as Doncic continues to play at an MVP-worthy level for the Mavericks, they will have a chance to become title contenders like they were last season. The Slovenian star has a strong supporting cast, led by teammate Kyrie Irving, that should allow him to continue to put up massive numbers on a nightly basis for Dallas.
These numbers won’t mean much if the Mavericks can’t find a way to win a title, as that’s clearly their primary goal for the new season. Doncic being in good shape to start the year would certainly help them in their efforts to achieve that goal, and while there have been some well-founded concerns recently, these photos should help show fans that he intends to be ready for the 2024-25 season.
