The 2024 NBA Draft took place with the Miami Heat selecting No. 15 overall on Indiana Hoosiers big man Kel’el Ware. After a 46-36 season that tested the team’s depth, Miami will look to climb the Eastern Conference standings in the 2024-25 campaign.
With the season fast approaching, the NBA has unveiled its full schedule for next season. First up, Ware and the Heat are set to make their debut against the Orlando Magic. It will be an interesting matchup against the likes of Franz Wagner and Wendall Carter Jr. in a test against a top-five team in the East.
It’s a highly anticipated debut as since draft night, Ware has expressed his excitement about playing for the Miami Heat.
“Whatever they need me to bring, whatever they need me to bring,” Ware responded after being selected. “That’s all I have to say. I’m so grateful they picked me.”
A year ago for Indiana, Ware averaged 16 points, 10 rebounds, one assist and two blocks per game while shooting 58 percent from the field and an even 42 percent from three-point range.
The rookie dominated the Summer League scene, giving Heat fans a glimpse of what he can bring to the organization throughout the regular season.
