Miami Heat player Jimmy Butler chose to attend a charity basketball game hosted by retired NBA star Yao Ming over his former teammate Goran Dragic’s event.

The event will take place in Hong Kong on Tuesday evening.

Los Angeles Clippers duo Paul George and James Harden, along with the Washington Wizards’ Kyle Kuzma, are expected to play.

ā€œI’m hoping the weather will be a little better tomorrow, with some California sunshine,ā€ George shared with scmp.com. “But I’m delighted to be here, it’s going to be great. Just like Jimmy [Butler] As we said before, we will be able to show what we do and play alongside good talents… [Everything here is new to me] so I’ll take it one day at a time.

The theme of the 12th Yao Foundation Charity Match is Grow with sports, embrace Hong Kong with love. In addition to the charity match, a basketball carnival will be held Tuesday morning at AsiaWorld-Expo, featuring friendly matches, acrobatic shooting demonstrations and other activities.

NBA stars will interact with the public and fans, according to the Yao Foundation websitePlayers will participate in community and sporting events, as these events aim to promote sports philanthropy while embodying the spirit of Growing up with sport.

It’s understandable that Butler would participate in the event, as the Yao Foundation is an established movement with over 15 years of basketball charity events.
