Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert has been fined US$100,000 (HK$780,000) by the NBA for making an “inappropriate and unprofessional gesture” towards a game official.
Gobert, 31, was cautioned for a foul in the final moments of regulation during Minnesota’s 113-104 overtime loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday.
Gobert made the “money gesture” in which he rubbed his fingers, implying that the match officials were on the case.
Gobert missed yesterday’s 120-109 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers due to a hamstring issue.
Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 27 points and a game-high 25 rebounds.
