The return of NBA basketball is near, which means we’ll soon see another installment of NBA 2K hit store shelves.
With the 2024-25 Regular Season Schedule released last week, fans can start planning their schedules for their respective team’s first games of the season. Now, they can also turn to NBA 2K25 releases on Friday, September 6.

More information on Kings forward DeMar DeRozan
The Kings and DeRozan agreed to a three-year, $76 million contract (the third year is partially guaranteed at $10 million) on July 8.
DeRozan has been one of the NBA’s leading scorers over the past decade, averaging 23.5 points per game since the start of the 2013-14 season. The 6-foot-2 wing is coming off an impressive 2023-24 campaign in which he averaged 24.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game on a 48/33/85 shooting ratio.
The veteran is a gifted mid-range scorer, hitting nearly 50 percent of his shots from 10 to 16 feet. DeRozan is also reliable in crucial moments, posting top-three finishes in Player of the Year voting the past two seasons.
Getting to the free-throw line is an art for DeRozan, as the Kings’ newest member ranked second among all NBA leaders in free-throw shots made, third in free-throw attempts and fifth in free-throw attempts per game (7.7).
DeRozan is one of 15 NBA players to average 25 or more points and 5 assists per game over the past three seasons–joining potential future teammate De’Aaron Fox–while ranking fifth in win shares among the talented group.
Adding DeRozan’s scoring and playmaking abilities to Sacramento’s core is a marked improvement for a team that needed a facelift.

Now that we know when the Kings will play their season opener, we can look forward to October 24 for Team Beam’s season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Training camps will begin in late September, meaning there could still be a move or two up general manager Monte McNair’s sleeve to fill out Sacramento’s roster before players report to Golden 1 Center.
