To help promote the September 6 release of the annual NBA 2K video game (this year known as NBA 2K25), the developers are gradually releasing overall ratings for the league’s players.
For example, we recently learned that Houston Rockets guard Reed Sheppard has an overall rating of 73. third best among rookiesTo determine each player’s worth, different basketball skills are rated on a scale of 1 to 100, and the average helps form an overall rating.
On Tuesday, NBA 2K leaders revealed the overall ratings of players ranked 51st through 100th in the league. Rockets guards Jalen Green and Fred VanVleet are ranked 56th and 57th, respectively, with an overall rating of 84. Interestingly, they are just ahead of former Houston superstar James Harden, who ranks 58th as he enters his second season with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Rockets center Alperen Sengun is not on the 51-100 list, so he is likely to be a top 50 player in NBA 2K25 heading into the 2024-25 season. The full 51-100 list is available here.
