D’Angelo Russell’s season-high 44 points helped the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Milwaukee Bucks 123-122.
Russell scored the game-winning points with 5.9 seconds remaining for the Lakers, who were missing an injured LeBron James.
The 28-year-old also dished out nine assists and tied a career-high nine three-pointers.
Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded his eighth triple-double of the season but the Bucks suffered a second consecutive defeat.
The Greek forward finished Friday with 34 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists.
Elsewhere, center Rudy Gobert admitted an “immature reaction” “cost my team the game” as the Minnesota Timberwolves lost 113-104 in overtime to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Frenchman was ejected for his sixth foul of the game with the Timberwolves leading and just 27 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
But he stayed on the court and made a “money” gesture by rubbing his fingers towards the referee, leading to him being charged with a technical foul.
The Cavs tied it up and forced overtime before clinching the victory, with Darius Garland’s 34 points and Jarrett Allen’s 33 helping them to the victory.
Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards ended a 16-game losing streak by beating the Charlotte Hornets 112-100.
The Wizards trailed 76-68 after three quarters, but scored 44 points in the final quarter to seal a rare victory.
