After ESPN released his mock projections, James tweeted about letting Bronny be a kid and enjoy college basketball. The four-time NBA champion added that his son puts in the work and mock drafts don’t matter.
This statement comes after James Said Bronny was better than some NBA players. So far, young James is averaging 5.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 21 games for the USC Trojans.
Los Angeles Lakers should consider signing Bronny James for next season
According to the NBA Krysten Peek, Project Analyst It is expected that the Lakers selecting Bronny using the 56th pick will spark conversations from Los Angeles. She also added that Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul said Bronny’s situation would be based on team fit.
“I don’t value getting a young player into the lottery as much as getting him into the right team, into the right developmental situation,” Paul said. Playing alongside his dad and staying close to home seems like an ideal situation,” Paul said.
Peek added that Bronny’s lackluster year at USC wouldn’t necessarily equate to a disappointing NBA career.
“How do these statements fit in with Bronny, his lackluster year at USC, and his projection as an NBA player? The big deal: Bronny will continue to develop his game, whether it’s another year or two at USC or with an NBA franchise, most likely in the G League. He’s a workaholic. He has all the tools and resources at his disposal to get the best training, the best recovery and learn the game from one of the greatest to ever play the game,” she added.
As it stands, Bronny James should not be selected in this year’s draft based on his skills alone. Many project him to be selected since James, the eldest, will play for whichever franchise picks his son.
It remains to be seen whether Bronny will declare for the draft in the coming months. What is certain, however, is that teams will be more interested in bringing LeBron if they opt for his son in the draft.
