When it comes to the Detroit PistonsThis is a team to watch on the trading market, given their activity over the past year.

In the midst of a rebuild, the Pistons have proven themselves to be sellers in the past. Not only do they have veterans who could be of interest to an organization that wants to win now, but they could also be players in multi-team trade scenarios, helping to get a deal done.

The Pistons have been quiet on the trade front since completing their deal for Tim Hardaway Jr. The same can’t be said for their division rival, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

While trade talks between Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland have simmered, Isaac Okoro is still a name to watch in Cleveland, according to ESPN Brian Windhorst.

“Isaac Okoro, I think there’s been little discussion back and forth,” Windhorst recently said on “The Hoop Collective“I’m sure it’s going to increase as we get closer to training camp. The Cavs realize all the money is being spent there. Okoro has the option to accept his qualifying offer. I’m told the Cavs made a multi-year offer, whatever it’s worth, so it’s a no-brainer they would make a multi-year offer.”

After leaving Auburn in 2020, Okoro landed in Cleveland as the fifth overall pick. He remained with the Cavaliers for his first four seasons in the NBA. Last year, Okoro started 42 games, appearing in just under 70 total games.

Spending 27 minutes on the court per outing, Okoro is averaging nine points and three rebounds while shooting 49 percent from the field during the 2023-24 NBA season.

At this point, Okoro has nearly 300 games under his belt. He has started nearly 80 percent of his regular season appearances. It’s obvious that the Cavs would like to keep Okoro for the time being, and have reportedly made a multi-year offer to the young veteran. However, a trade shouldn’t be out of the question at this point.

So far, there hasn’t been a connection between Detroit and Okoro, but the Pistons could do their due diligence on the 23-year-old veteran if the Cavaliers are serious about moving on.
