Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards recently went viral after making a controversial statement that Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan was the only talented player of his era.
“I didn’t watch it at the time, so I can’t speak to that,” Edwards said. Florsheim Alley of the Wall Street Journal. “They say it was harder then than it is now, but I don’t think anyone had the skills back then. [Michael Jordan] “I was the only one who really had talent, you know what I mean?”
The Timberwolves star faced strong backlash over the comments, including from NBA legends who played during Jordan’s era.
Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson is one of the big names in the league who has recently criticized Edwards. In an interview with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, Johnson criticized Edwards, saying he has never won a championship at any level.
“I never answer a guy who’s never won a championship… He hasn’t won a college championship, I don’t even know if he’s won a high school championship.”

“I never answer a guy who’s never won a championship,” Johnson said. “There’s really nothing to say. He hasn’t won a college championship. I don’t even know if he’s won a high school championship.”
Johnson is a five-time NBA champion and three-time Finals MVP. Losing to Jordan’s Bulls in the 1991 NBA Finals, Johnson was unable to lead the Lakers to another title, which would have been his sixth.
Taking aim at Edwards for his comments about the Jordan era, Johnson made his feelings clear on what the Timberwolves star had to say.
