A potential Western Conference playoff game will begin tonight as the Kings of Sacramento visit the Minnesota Timberwolves to 8 p.m. ET.
Sacramento (33-25) has lost two straight games and suffered a 117-96 loss to Nuggets Wednesday. The Kings actually led by 15 early in the second quarter before the offense cooled down and the defending champions took the lead. Minnesota (42-17) retained its place atop the West standings with a three-game winning streak and overturned the last Grizzlies 110-101 Wednesday. The Wolves held on, limiting the Grizz to just 38.7% shooting as Anthony Edwards dropped 34 points.
On the injury front, De’Aaron Fox (knee) missed the Kings’ last game and is listed as questionable for tonight’s game. For the T-Wolves, Anthony Edwards (ankle) is questionable while Kyle Anderson (knee) is doubtful.
Minnesota enters the game as a 6.5-point favorite DraftKings Sports Bettingaccompanied by a total of 224. The Timberwolves are listed as -258 moneyline favorites, making the Kings a +210 underdog.
Kings vs. Timberwolves, 8 p.m. ET
Choose ATS: Kings +6.5
Sacramento has fallen flat in its last two games, and as the current No. 8 seed in the Western Conference, it doesn’t want to fall further behind the pack. The Kings are 18-13-1 ATS on the road this season and I imagine they would come out with a sense of urgency against the best team in the conference tonight. I’ll take Sac-Town to cover myself.
More less : Less than 224
Both teams have scored an average of around 112 points in their last five respective outings, but Minnesota has put pressure on the teams during this stretch. They’ve held their opponents to just 99 points on 40.5% shooting over those five games and should pose a significant obstacle for the Kings on that side of the floor. That’s why I’m going to come down here.
