The NBA has announced its schedule for the 2024-25 season, and there are plenty of storylines to follow. As the season approaches, one of the most interesting games on the freshly released schedule, with a touch of the NBA Draft, takes place early in the season.

On October 28, the Washington Wizards will travel to Atlanta to face the Hawks at 7 p.m. ET.

It will be a battle between first overall pick Zaccharie Risacher and second overall pick Alex Sarr.

Heading into the 2024 NBA Draft, there was no consensus at the top. In fact, many thought Sarr would be the first pick. However, the board quickly changed its mind when the 7-foot-4 player reportedly declined to work out for the Hawks and instead chose the Wizards as his destination.

The Hawks didn’t call his bluff, opting to keep Risacher at the top and Sarr heading to D.C.

After struggling in the Summer League, this will be Sarr’s chance to bounce back and make a splash on the scene.

Washington has opened the game against the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, so their date with Atlanta will serve as a way to get Sarr and company’s heads above water.

Even though the perception of the 2024 NBA Draft is down, it’s still interesting to see the top two picks face off.
