The talent of Oklahoma City’s superstars was on full display internationally this summer. All eyes were on the Paris Olympics and the showdown between some of the NBA’s biggest stars. But it wasn’t a walkover for the United States, unlike what we’ve seen in recent years. Many countries now have MVP candidates and a handful of NBA players, which elevates the competition to a new level.

The best example of a foreign MVP talent would be Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpoand the Thunder’s own Shai Gilgeous-AlexanderFrance also had a handful of NBA players and a future superstar. Victor Wembaynama.

It was a real spectacle this summer and the talented NBA stars did not disappoint. Team USA defeated France in the gold medal game and basketball fans around the world were treated to some vintage performances from Steph Curry, LeBron James And Kevin DurantIf this is the last time this trio plays for Team USA, it was the perfect way to end.

Gilgeous-Alexander did everything he could, but Canada ultimately fell short. He had multiple 20-point performances and carried the Canadian team on his back in almost every game. He led his country to its first Olympic basketball victory in more than 20 years and established himself as a Canadian legend.

He’s now back in Oklahoma City training for the upcoming season, but his performance this summer won’t be forgotten. On Friday, Netflix premiered a documentary about the 2024 Olympic basketball competition and featured Gilgeous-Alexander’s jersey in the promotional photo.

“(The documentary) will give access to all of the sport’s promising hopes and medal contenders from around the world as they fight first to qualify for Paris 2024 before aiming for the Olympic podium,” said Scott Bregman from the Olympic channel.

This documentary will be a must-see for NBA and Thunder fans. It is expected to air in 2025.
