Some things never change, especially when it comes to Ben Simmons and offseason workout videos. At this point, it seems like every summer, footage of the Brooklyn Nets forward showing off his athleticism and seemingly improved shooting ability is released, with none of it translating once the season actually begins.

This time around, Simmons offered fewer glimpses of his offseason training, opting to post a photo of himself practicing with his former 76ers teammate Matisse Thybulle. Both players have a knack for poor shooting, which has been a major target of criticism from fans.

“They’re building free housing 🥶🥶,” one user commented, implying that the two spent their workout throwing up “bricks.”

“Pray for the Rim 🕊,” another replied.

Unfortunately for Simmons, if it’s even possible, until he returns to the form he once was, the online criticism will continue. Fans have already made up their minds about what they think of him as a player, and any action Simmons makes will be scrutinized.

“Two guys who never improved their offensive game” was perhaps the most accurate reaction of all.

The 28-year-old was considered the NBA player with the biggest future, but all the hype collapsed after the fateful 2021 game against the Atlanta Hawks. After arriving in Brooklyn, his situation didn’t improve much due to his inability to stay on the court.

He’s owed $40.3 million in 2024-25 and will enter unrestricted free agency next summer.
