The Brooklyn Nets will be heavily involved in trade rumors leading up to the February deadline, and they will be viewed as a team that can help facilitate a number of three-team deals.

Bleacher Report reporter Eric Pincus suggests the idea of a three-team deal between the Nets, Utah Jazz and New Orleans Pelicans, with Brandon Ingram being sent to Salt Lake City.

As part of the deal, the Pelicans get Cam Johnson from the Nets, Walker Kessler from the Jazz and a trade exception. The Jazz get Ingram from the Pelicans and Day’Ron Sharpe from the Nets while Brooklyn gets John Collins, Brice Sensabaugh and a 2025 first-round pick from Utah.

“Collins can fill a need as a power forward next to Claxton because he’s younger (nearly 27) and taller (6’1″) than Johnson. But as the Nets rebuild, Collins could be just an interim step on a shorter contract. He could make more than Johnson over the next two seasons (with a player option for 2025-26), but Collins’ contract is shorter and could be a valuable contract expiring next summer,” Pincus writes“The Nets are projected to have more salary cap space than any other team in 2025 (on the order of $67 million). Collins reduces that slightly but does not significantly diminish Brooklyn’s spending power.

Ingram is a potential tradeable asset as he enters the final year of his contract, but the Pelicans have insisted they won’t trade him at this time. Should that change, however, the Nets should be willing to help them with any deal to improve their situation.
