The New York Knicks’ number 11 is officially number 13.
The official rankings for the latest edition of the long-running simulation video game “NBA 2K” saw Jalen Brunson land in the top 20: with Issues 20-11 were released on FridayBrunson and his 93 rating rank 13th for the 2024-25 launch version of the game.
Brunson ranks behind Anthony Edwards and Devin Booker and immediately ahead of illustrious names like Donovan Mitchell, Jaylen Brown and Kyrie Irving.
While Knicks fans will undoubtedly demand more respect for Brunson, they will probably also appreciate their point guard getting some national recognition for his efforts in rejuvenating Manhattan basketball.
Under Brunson’s leadership, the Knicks have once again become a popular team for gamers looking to draw inspiration from their 2K sessions. In real life, New York has won at least one playoff series in the last two years, and last year they won 50 games and finished second in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. For his efforts, Brunson was invited to his first NBA All-Star Game and his first All-NBA teams.
For his work, Brunson has been one of the fastest-growing players in recent 2K history: When he entered the Association in time for NBA 2K19, Brunson was ranked just 70th as a rookie with the Dallas Mavericks. He was up to 83rd by the time he joined the Knicks ahead of NBA 2K23, and his breakout campaign in Manhattan propelled him to 88th.
The Top 20 unveiled Friday includes Kawhi Leonard, Victor Wembanyama, Tyrese Haliburton and Ja Morant.
“NBA 2K25” is set to release worldwide on September 6. The top 10 names in the official player rankings will be revealed on Monday. Reigning NBA/WNBA champions Jayson Tatum and A’ja Wilson will both be featured on the cover.
