After a first-round playoff exit, it’s been a busy offseason for theThe Philadelphia 76ersDaryl Morey spent a year laying the groundwork for salary cap space this summer, and he made the most of it.
The Sixers’ biggest change was signing Paul George to a four-year max deal. On top of that, Morey brought in veterans like Andre Drummond, Caleb Martin, Reggie Jackson and Eric Gordon to round out the supporting cast. The Sixers also kept some familiar faces, with Kelly Oubre, Kyle Lowry and KJ Martin returning.
Last week, Sixers coach Nick Nurse and Morey sat down together. During that interview, Nurse was asked about his thoughts on the new roster. He’s looking forward to the options he’ll have in his second season as head coach.
“I really appreciate the fact that we’ve got a good number of players back. I think the players we’ve got back are certainly players that we like and players that are really into it,” The nurse said“I love the possibilities. I don’t put myself in a box, I just want to see what they’re capable of. I think I have some ideas of things we can try and we’ll shape them as we go.”

With a versatile forward group, Nurse will certainly have plenty of options when it comes to lineups and rotations. That versatility should work in their favor, as the Sixers can deploy endless combinations around their newly formed big three.
From his comments, Nurse seems eager to work with this group. The pressure will be on for him, though, as many have already labeled the Sixers as Finals contenders with their revamped and improved roster.
