As reigning champion Denver Nuggets With just a little more to go in the season, their potential title defense is expected to face plenty of obstacles. Currently second in the Western Conference with a 49-21 record, Denver is 7-1, thanks in large part to the heroics of its two All-Stars, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.

Both players have been in fine form and Jokic has responded with two 30+ point performances since the loss to the Dallas Mavericks, leading to back-to-back wins. The most recent, against the New York Knicks, took place following a big night of Michael Porter Jr.who finished with 31 points and 8 rebounds at Ball Arena.

With the Nuggets now set to travel to Portland, they listed Jokic and Murray as questionable for the game. The Serbia international is currently suffering from lower back pain due to lip and hip inflammation and faces a race against time to be fit for the Trail Blazers clash.

A similar situation occurred regarding Jamal Murray, who is also listed as questionable due to an ankle injury. The two stars are the latest additions to an injured list filled with bench players.

This includes Zeke Nnaji, Jalen Pickett and Vlatko Cancar:

Player Stats and Box Score from Denver Nuggets’ Final Game vs. Portland Trail Blazers

The two teams will face each other tomorrow for the fourth time this season. The Denver Nuggets have won all three matchups so far, with the last matchup on February 24 leading to a 127-112 victory at the Moda Center.

The Nuggets dominated for the first three quarters, leading to a comfortable victory, held back by another huge triple-double from Nikola Jokic. Jokic finished with 29 points, 14 assists and 15 rebounds and watched Michael Porter Jr. top score with 31 points.

Jamal Murray, doubtful in the last clash, was also absent in the last match, as well as Colin Gillespie came off the bench to score 18 points.

On the other hand, the Trail Blazers relied on Jerami Grant and DeAndre Ayton, the first scoring 25 points while the second achieved a double-double, with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Anfernee Simmons produced 21 points while Dalano Banton came off the bench to contribute 14.

Now, with Murray and Jokic questionable for the game, a lot could depend on whether both stars play that night. If they don’t, the Trail Blazers will be especially optimistic about their chances of pulling off an upset victory.
