The family is back in the news – for the wrong reasons – once again.

Denver NuggetsThe superstar’s older brother appeared in a Denver courtroom Wednesday on a misdemeanor assault charge, Shelly Bradbury from The Denver Post reports.
Jokic, 42, was charged with third-degree assault in late July after a video of him punching a fan during an altercation at a game at Ball Arena went viral in April.
According to Bradbury’s report, Jokic felt he did nothing wrong and was simply defending an acquaintance.
The fan reportedly suffered a concussion, as well as cuts and bruises to his face. He initially declined to press charges but later changed his mind, according to Denver police.
A Denver County Court judge issued a protective order to keep Jokic away from the alleged victim and ordered Jokic to return to court in October to enter a plea in the case.

While Nikola makes history on the court, winning championships and individual awards, his brothers struggle to stay out of trouble off the court.
In 2019, Strahinja was charged with assault after being accused of strangling and pushing a womanHe pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of preventing the woman from contacting police, as well as a misdemeanor count of trespassing.
The trespassing charge was dropped in 2022 after Jokic successfully followed the court’s rules for unsupervised persons and remained crime-free for two years.
The Jokic brothers had a public spat with NBA twins Markieff and Marcus Morris after an on-court incident between Nikola and Markieff during a Nuggets-Heat game in 2021.
The brothers approached X after the dispute on the field to Issue warning to Morris twins.
