Dirk Nowitzki would love to see Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic in a Dallas Mavericks uniform one day.

With Jokic ready to team up With Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic set for Goran Dragic’s star-studded farewell game in Slovenia on Saturday, Nowitzki was asked about the possibility of the two men joining forces in the NBA.

“I hope it’s in Dallas,” the Hall of Famer told reporters Friday, according to Cesare Milanti, Eurohoops player“I’m not sure it will ever happen, but obviously both of them are two of the best players in the world, if not the best players in the world.”

Nowitzki, who spent his entire 21-year NBA career in Dallas, went on to praise the relationship between Jokic and Doncic.

“They both have a great relationship, they respect each other and they genuinely like each other. They spend time together,” he said. “I’m not sure, but of course we want Luka to stay in Dallas as long as possible. I hope he finishes his career there, but I love Jokic’s game, the way he plays with passion, and the skill level as a big is unbelievable. They’re both unbelievable players.”

Jokic is under contract with the Nuggets through the 2027-28 season, while Doncic is entering the third year of a five-year, $215 million extension he signed with the Mavs in 2021.
