The Oklahoma City Thunder travel north to face the Milwaukee Bucks as they have the opportunity to reach the 50-win mark while maintaining the top seed in the Western Conference. With a win, they would reach that win total for the first time since the 2015-16 season – the campaign they lost in the Western Conference finals.
The Bucks are only the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, 11.5 games behind the top seed and two games ahead of the No. 3 seed.
Both teams, in terms of standings, could benefit from a big win in this match. This is the first of two meetings between the two teams this season.
Injury report
Thunder:
- Ousmane Dieng, OUT (G League)
- Olivier Sarr, OUT (G League)
- Adam Flagler, OUT (G League)
- Keyontae Johnson, OUT (G League)
Roe deer:
- Giannis Antetokounmpo, Probable (hamstring)
- Khris Middleton, Probable (Ankle)
- AJ Green, questionable (illness)
One would assume that Middleton and Antetokounmpo will play, meaning both teams will be at full strength heading into this game. Both teams will likely finish among the top three seeds in their respective conferences with the potential to make a deep playoff run. Needless to say, having both teams healthy could make for an incredible matchup.
Updated odds:
Heading into Fiserv Forum on the road, the Thunder are a 2.5-point underdog. They’re facing the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference on the road, so it’s not a big shock that they’re playing this game as non-favorites.
Yet the Thunder are on a four-game winning streak averaging 120 points per game during that stretch. They’ll hit the road and play a tough game, but getting a fifth straight win could be a challenge. The Bucks have been a strong road team and the Thunder have a 23-13 road record. It will be interesting to watch this one unfold.
