After five seasons playing for the The Los Angeles Clippers in his hometown, Paul George has entered free agency to sign with the The Philadelphia 76ersThe Sixers were able to lure him to the East Coast on a four-year, $212 million deal and now have a formidable trio in the East with him. Joel Embiid And Tyrese Maxey.
George has detailed why he left the Clippers in previous episodes of his podcast, “Podcast P with Paul George,” but in his latest episode, his father joined the podcast. Paul George Sr. gave his thoughts on his son’s departure from the Clippers:
It was painful. It was like they were stabbing us in the back because I thought Paul had done a lot for the team, as far as the fan base, the fans were there. He was there. I think he gave them 110 percent and what he was asking for, it wasn’t much, but they saw something different. I didn’t want him to take anything. He stands up for what he believes in, and he felt like it was a bunch of crap they were throwing at him and I wasn’t going to sugarcoat it. ‘I support you 100 percent. If you have to go, you have to go.’
