In the latest episode of the KG Certified Podcast, Kevin Garnett and Pierce discussed the upcoming Warriors-Lakers game. The two chose who would win the match and, unsurprisingly, The Truth called for the Dubs to take the W.

While Pierce noted that he is picking the Warriors because they really need the win and will come into the game with more hunger, he also highlighted how the The Lakers’ recent performances have caused concern him.

According to Boston Celtics icon, it’s just hard to understand the Lakers. When they click, they can beat the current top dogs in the league. But when they don’t, they lose to teams they were supposed to handle easily.

It’s a great game. I don’t know who the Lakers are sometimes. They beat a good team and then lose to a team they’re supposed to beat. That’s exactly how their season went. Why do you think they’re in the 9th-10th place, bro,” Pierce told Garnett.

The Lakers won six of their last 10 games, and they’re actually on the rise amid their attempt to get out of play-in contention. Apart from their two defeats against the Sacramento Kings in the last five games they have done quite well after beating top teams such as Oklahoma City ThunderMilwaukee Bucks and Minnesota Timberwolves.

That being said, Pierce’s perspective is definitely surprising.

Does Paul Pierce make a good point about LeBron JamesThe Los Angeles Lakers?

Still, looking at the Los Angeles Lakers’ performance over the past couple of months, what Paul Pierce said might have merit.

On the one hand, in their recent matchup against the Washington Wizards, Kyle Kuzma and Co. pushed LeBron James and the rest of the Purple and Gold to the brink of an overtime battle. Darvin Ham’s men ended up winning 134-131but it wasn’t pretty.

Going back a little further, in late January, the Lakers actually lost back-to-back games to the struggling Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets.

For a team with playoff and title aspirations, it’s definitely a bad sign to see them struggling to get close to teams rated lower than them.
