Rating:
The Clippers haven’t been playing their best basketball lately. They are 1-3 ATS in their last four games, although they have faced Portland (twice) and Atlanta in three of those games, and are 3-7 ATS in their last ten matches. I won’t pick them to cover the spread tomorrow against a Philadelphia team still in contention for playoff positioning, even without Joel Embiid.
Tyrese Maxey will run the show on Sunday, attacking the Clippers’ guards off the dribble. The Sixers general has scored 30 points in three of his last five games and is coming off a 27-point performance against the Lakers. Although they are not at full strength, Philadelphia is efficient enough to keep pace on offense and ranks first in the league in interceptions. If he can force enough turnovers to score at least 15 points off Los Angeles’ miscues, he’ll cover the spread.
Prediction: Sixers will cover

I’m betting on Philly to push Los Angeles for four quarters and cover the spread tomorrow, which means I’ll also bet on the over. The under is 7-0-1 in the Sixers’ last eight games, but they will buck that trend against a Clippers team that has played down its competition recently. Additionally, it is 5-2 in Los Angeles’ last seven games.
LA should have a lot of success from beyond the arc (3rd in 3PT%) and from the midrange (5th in midrange FG), and Philly’s defense is vulnerable at the rim (17th in opponent FG). On the other side of the court, Philadelphia will attack Los Angeles from three-point range (15th in opponent 3PT%) and force turnovers that lead to transition points.
