Former North Carolina forward Nassir Petit will have to find a new home in the NBA for the upcoming season.
After spending one season with the Phoenix Suns, the franchise chose to part ways with Little, releasing him on Wednesday. Little was acquired by the Suns in September 2023 as part of a deal that included Damian Lillard in Milwaukee, Deandre Ayton and Jrue Holliday in Milwaukee and Little, Grayson Allen and Keon Johnson in Phoenix.
In his lone season, Little played in 45 games, including two as a starter. He averaged 3.4 points and 1.7 rebounds per game, while playing 1.4 minutes per game.
The Phoenix Suns will waive forwards Nassir Little and EJ Liddell, according to sources. By releasing both, the Suns open up a roster spot and create flexibility for sign-and-trades during the offseason. Little has $22 million remaining on his contract with Portland, as the Suns are spreading it out over three years. The move also gives the Suns a free roster spot they can use for flexibility in the offseason or during the season.
Little is not expected to be out of work for long, however. He is only 24 and should soon find his place on a roster.
