THE Dallas Mavericks pulled off an incredible come-from-behind victory to defeat the Denver Nuggets, 107-105. Kyrie Irving hit the game-winning basket with no time left on an inbounds play where he saw a crazy left-handed skyhook fall.
After the game, Matthew Phillips and I went live to react to the shot, the win, and analyze what we think worked and what didn’t in this game. We spent the first ten minutes of the series analyzing the final plan and what led up to it. This has to be Dallas’ wildest game-winner since Luka Doncic’s double-overtime win over the Clippers in 2020 during the Bubble.

After that, we spent a lot of time explaining why Dallas was in a position to win this game (and lose it, if we’re being honest). Dallas played a lot of bullyball, outplaying the Nuggets on the glass and for loose balls. The offense came and went for Dallas, with all non-Kyrie players and Luka going 0-for-13 from distance.
This could be considered a season-defining victory. Dallas hasn’t had many definitive matchups against top talent in either conference, so seeing that they CAN pull off a win like this should go a long way toward allaying fears within the fan base. It was a really fun show and if you watch the video it goes right into the live show with fan participation. This show will be broadcast on audio feeds Monday afternoon.
