The NBA’s Western Conference is almost always the tougher of the league’s two conferences, so it’s no surprise that so many top teams compete in the Oklahoma City Thunder for dominance in the West this season. But when you think about potential contenders like the Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets, are any of those teams really the Thunder’s rivals?

Or can we say that Oklahoma City’s closer rivals aren’t really up to par at the moment, like the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers? Do we have to go back even further in time for an answer, to the Seattle Supersonics?
