The Athletic’s Sam Amick joined the “Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross” Thursday morning to discuss the Sacramento Kings’ recent two-game winning streak, potential playoff matchups and more.

A day away from an impressive 35-point win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesdaythe Kings followed up with a victory against the Lakers, completing season sweep in Los Angeles.

As of Thursday morning, the Sacramento Kings now sit as the sixth seed in the Western Conference, three and a half games behind the fourth-seeded Los Angeles Clippers. With their recent strong play, Amick thinks Team Beam tends to be the team to avoid in the playoffs.

“It will be the narrative, which is good… To the fans, I would just say give it a try and enjoy it.” Remember, 16 year old man, they didn’t make the playoffs. For most seasons, you might stop paying attention to it in December,” Amick said.

Additional topics covered include:

  • Details of his one-on-one conversation with Giannis Antetokounmpo
  • It shouldn’t be difficult for the Kings to finish strong heading into the playoffs
  • His message to Kings fans during the latter part of the season
  • The rise of Keon Ellis and what he’s done in the lineup
  • If Bronny James is likely to declare for the NBA draft this year and LeBron decides to play with his son
  • Has Anthony Davis taken over as head of the Lakers?
  • Does Domantas Sabonis have a chance of getting the top five MVP votes?
