The San Antonio Spurs appear to have been one of the big winners of the offseason thanks to several smart moves, namely the signing of Chris PaulPaul will likely help the Spurs improve significantly after missing the playoffs for the past five years, the longest stretch in franchise history.

He could also help rising star Victor Wembanyama become a superstar, which seems like only a matter of time. Especially after he came close to leading France to a gold medal against Team USA at just 20 years old. Wembanyama becoming a superstar would help the Spurs get back into title contention sooner than expected.

However, FS1’s Nick Wright recently proposed on First Things First a shocking trade involving the Spurs and two former rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors. While the Spurs are on the rise, the Lakers and Warriors have at least peaked, if not fallen, so each could benefit from a big trade, assuming the deal makes sense for both teams.

Next, we’ll look at Wright’s shocking 3-team trade involving the Spurs, Lakers and Warriors and see if it makes sense for each team.
