Kevin Durant has a pretty straightforward approach to social media.
He will match the energy of those he interacts with, even if it means trolling.
“The whole point of social media is to interact with people,” he said in a conversation with Jalen Rose and Anthony Edwards (22:20). “So you follow me for a chance to interact, so it depends on how I feel. If you troll me, I’m going to troll you back. If you show me love, I’m going to show you love back. I try to give back the energy as much as I can to give people a deeper experience of who I am.”
Future Hall of Famer or not, this is the guy who has already said “I don’t sit on Twitter. I stay on 10 until the second I close the app.”
People shouldn’t be surprised when Durant is willing to engage with almost anyone on social media about a variety of topics, including basketball. GQ even judge He’s Twitter’s GOAT of 2021, and he continues to interact with fans and haters alike in a way that stands out from his NBA peers.
Those who choose to troll the Phoenix Suns star have little choice. After all, Durant has won two championships, two NBA Finals MVPs, a league MVP, four scoring titles, 11 All-NBA selections and four gold medals.
This list of accomplishments would give anyone confidence, and he certainly has enough to troll people on social media.
