This November matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks is, once again, a playoff rematch for the Pacers. Indiana eliminated Milwaukee in six games in the first round last season. However, Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo missed the entire series, and star Damian Lillard was out for Games 4 and 5.
Much like against the Celtics and Knicks, this game should be another exhibition game for the Pacers, but for a different reason.
While the Celtics and Knicks are widely considered the two best teams in the conference, the Bucks have become arguably the most overlooked team in the league.
Last season, after the Bucks acquired Lillard, many considered them, along with the Celtics, to be the two biggest threats in the conference. Additionally, they are just three years removed from an NBA title, making them a title favorite heading into last season. However, due to their disappointing 2023-24 season, many seem to have forgotten that the Bucks were one of the best teams in the East.
While things aren’t as good, the same can be said for the Pacers. They just made the Eastern Conference Finals, but many analysts don’t see them as a threat to represent the conference in next year’s NBA Finals.
Both teams have a lot to prove to themselves and the world. And with that too an NBA Cup matchThe stakes will be high in this match.
