The 2024-25 NBA season is less than two months away, and it can’t come soon enough. After Spurs general manager Brian Wright made roster changes, the excitement to see this team on the court is through the roof. The additions of Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes are exactly what the league’s youngest team needed last year; they’ll undoubtedly have a significant impact on the year.

But projections for how good this team will be are wildly mixed. While many see San Antonio back at the bottom of the Western Conference, others believe this team’s growth, led by a supposed leap in Victor Wembanyama’s evolution, puts them in position to challenge for a play-in spot. It’s certainly on the table, but navigating the West is never easy, so it will likely come down to the wire, and every game will count.

– March 27 @ Cleveland Cavaliers
– March 29 against the Boston Celtics
– March 30 against the Golden State Warriors
– April 2 at the Denver Nuggets
– April 4 vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
– April 6 @ Portland Trail Blazers
– April 8 @ LA Clippers
– April 9 @ Golden State Warriors
– April 11 @ Phoenix Suns
– April 13 against the Toronto Raptors

This is incredibly difficult end to the regular season. The leadership of veterans Chris Paul (if he’s still on the roster) and Harrison Barnes will be more important than ever here. Putting Portland in the middle and Toronto at the end is just a reprieve from the multitude of superstars the Spurs will have to face relentlessly. To top it off, there are two back-to-backs to worry about, and San Antonio will have to face the Warriors at the end of each one.

If there’s one thing Silver and Black fans know about Wembanyama so far, it’s that he loves a challenge. He will step in and perform. But the team as a whole must be prepared to play its best game every night with attention to detail. That could be the difference in San Antonio’s first playoff appearance in five years.
