Even after he left us, the Hall of Fame’s legacy Boston Celtics big man Bill Russell lives on in the lives of the people he touched. With his fellow NBA players, coaches and executives, the fans who saw the fruits of their labor. Or the countless others who have benefited from his tireless advocacy.
To commemorate Russell’s historic impact on the game of basketball, the folks over at YouTube channel “The Score” have put together a short clip. It seeks to commemorate Russell’s impact on the game that ultimately gave him a platform to do much more around the world.
“Ultimately, to boil down Russell’s life and career to a single moment would be an insult to his immense legacy. That’s why we’re highlighting the litany of ways Russell changed the game of basketball, forever,” they write.
