Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris has been struggling on the court recently. He had a 5-game stretch in which he averaged just 10.8 points and shot just 31.3% from the floor and 23.5% from deep.
Those kinds of numbers won’t get it done because the Sixers need him to give more with Joel Embiid off the court. He is very aware of this and he was able to bounce back greatly during his two previous outings.
Harris had 31 points and 12 rebounds in a win over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday, then followed that up with 28 points and five rebounds in a win over the Charlotte Hornets. defeat the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. It looks like he’s back on track, which is good news for him and the Sixers.
“I just find a good balance,” Harris told reporters after Sunday’s victory. “I’m finding different ways to slow the game down, get to my spots and be able to make shots. I play with confidence, but overall I do a lot of little things. I go out there with a lot of energy and make an impact in any way I can. Obviously the last two games went really well. I just want to continue this type of flow and this rhythm.
On the season, Harris is averaging 17.6 points and shooting 50% from the floor. He needs to play at this level consistently until the end and then maintain it in the playoffs.
Many factors will decide Philadelphia’s fate in the 2023-24 season, but Harris’ play will arguably be the most important for the Sixers to achieve their goals.
