This season, the Minnesota Timberwolves have exceeded all regular season expectations. Sitting with 43 wins and 19 losses, they have the opportunity to have the best regular season in franchise history.
That being said, the Western Conference has been a bloodbath this season. No team the Wolves face in the playoffs will be easy, but some of them are proving to be better than others. To begin with: an ancient dynasty.
If someone said five years ago that one day the Golden State Warriors would be an ideal match for the Timberwolves, no one would believe them. But there you have it, Minnesota is first, while Golden State is 10th.
Over the years, the Wolves and Warriors have grown considerably. This back and forth is composed of players snipe at each other in the media and physicality on the field. However, this year it was amplified after Draymond Green went at it with Rudy Gobert and Anthony Edwards.

The Warriors are the league’s newest dynasty, but the reality is that Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond, while still excellent, are at the end of their careers. The Warriors also have a serious lack of size in their frontcourt, something the Wolves have exposed in their matchups so far this season.
The big game experience that many of the Warriors players possess, as well as some of their emerging talent, would undoubtedly pose some problems for the Wolves. However, this season is different for the Wolves. They have the talent and experience this year to take on anyone in the West. The Wolves’ size and half-court defense would likely be too much for the Dubs to handle.
