It’s Lottery Watch Friday as the Portland Trail Blazers and Memphis Grizzlies face off in a basement battle tonight.

Both teams are considering a top-5 draft pick, but one must be favored in the NBA Odds here. The injury-ravaged Grizzlies earn that honor — barely — despite going 2-10 in February. Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 33 points on Wednesday but Memphis still lost 110-101 to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Trail Blazers fared even worse, with a winless month totaling nine straight losses. Portland pushed the Miami Heat early Tuesday but fell in a 106-96 loss.

If you like smooth, clean basketball, this game probably isn’t for you. We’re going to see some mistakes from inexperienced rotations, but valuable reps for young players are about the only thing left up for grabs this season for either franchise.

But that doesn’t mean that NBA player accessories the market is a stay here. In fact, there are some interesting options given that both teams’ offensive leaders will have the green light to shoot.

With this logic, I choose one of the most proven scorers present tonight and take over the Jerami Grant odds for his prop points.

He and Anfernee Simons will dominate the keys for the Portland Trail Blazers, and Grant hit the Over on that 22.5 number four times last month despite the Trail Blazers’ dismal streak. He’s also likely to view big minutes as one of the few reliable weapons Chauncey Billups can rely on.

This prop looks a little better with Jackson Jr. ruled out for the hosts. This frees up space around the rim for Grant to operate, while the likely absence of teammate Deandre Ayton due to a hand injury should clear up the paint further.

I expect Grant to be aggressive here. He regularly participates in charity work, including 20 free throw attempts in the overtime win over the Detroit Pistons on Feb. 8, and he also shot 41 percent on triples last month.

Against a young and vulnerable Memphis Grizzlies defense, I see Grant taking full advantage of it tonight.

While I see Grant thriving, it’s hard to have confidence in his overall shooting success in this game. The Trail Blazers had an ugly 80-point outing against the Charlotte Hornets last weekend, shooting a miserable 35 percent from the field, and their bench is woefully short of NBA talent.

Meanwhile, the Grizzlies will be putting together an offense without Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart and Jackson Jr.

These teams are rock bottom in points per game and field goal percentage, making the Under a safer play, even with a line as low as 208.5. He’s been hit in three of the last four meetings between these teams, and there will be fewer field goal options tonight.

Portland limped from defeat to defeat in February, so a new month is a welcome sight. Although the visitors haven’t covered in any of their last seven games, I’m optimistic about their chances here.

It’s time for Grant and Simons to shine as two of the NBA’s few established scorers in this game, and the Blazers should be encouraged by sticking with the Heat in the first half midweek.

Take your pick – Portland is 6-22 on the road and Memphis is 7-22 at home. With both teams depleted by injuries, this has all the makings of a tight, disjointed contest that comes down to the final minutes.

The Trail Blazers won’t have a better chance to end their losing streak, but the visitors still come into FedExForum as slight underdogs.

These teams split the two meetings earlier this season in Portland and will meet again tomorrow night, but the rash of injuries makes it difficult to take much advantage of historical trends. You could definitely put together an impressive lineup with players ready to wear street clothes tonight.

I’ve already indicated that I like Portland’s moneyline in this spot, and it seems reasonable to wonder where Memphis’ points will come from. The hosts face a reality in which Santi Aldama and GG Jackson, which is debatable, could be their most competent attacking options from the available roster.

An Over/Under line of 208.5 says it all. We have a rock fight in store here, with the Grizzlies scoring 101 points or fewer in their last three contests and the Trail Blazers falling short of 100 points four times in February.

Looking back, both teams leaned towards the Under this season. It’s 33-25-1 for Memphis and 26-31 for Portland.
