Rumors persist that the Utah Jazz could be willing to trade center Walker Kessler if the right deal presents itself, but they may be more eager than expected to make the move.
The Jazz have brought up Kessler in trade talks and he doesn’t appear to have been a key piece for the team, according to Eric Pincus of Bleacher ReportHe adds that the Jazz did float Kessler in stalled trade talks with the New York Knicks, but nothing came of it.
The Jazz may trade Kessler, but they won’t necessarily give him away. Other reports over the past month have suggested the Jazz are holding on a very high asking price for himYou’d think the Jazz would be willing to accept a two-pick offer for Kessler if he’s not really viewed as a building block by the team.
Kessler has been a standout rookie for the Jazz, averaging 9.2 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in 2022-23. His numbers dipped a bit last season, but there’s still plenty of value here for a player who finished in the top three of Rookie of the Year voting and has two years left on his rookie contract.
