Floyd Mayweather was accompanied by a special guest as he made his way to the ring to face John Gotti III on Saturday.
The legendary boxer was accompanied by Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis as he stepped into the ring in Mexico.
Although Mayweather officially retired in 2017 after beating Conor McGregor in 10 rounds, the “Greatest of All Time” has been active in exhibition matches, competing in seven fights since 2018. Three of them were victories, two were no-contests and one, against Gotti in 2023, ended in a no-contest.
The last fight between Mayweather and Gotti was very eventful. The fight was stopped in the sixth round after a lot of back and forth that resulted in several fights between the two camps.
When the announcement of the Mayweather vs. Gotti showdown was made, anticipation began to build around the fight. With the last fight ending without a win, Saturday’s fight will have many implications.
Mayweather had plenty of power when he entered the ring, and he’s hoping Davis’ presence will give him an advantage.
