When you’re an NBA player with a tradeable contract, the best thing you can do to avoid all the noise that might surround you is play a video game.

On FanDuel TVs Run it backwardsRoyce O’Neale revealed to Michelle Beadle that he found out he was traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Phoenix Suns during a game of Call of Duty.

The most upsetting part of the story is that O’Neale had to stop what he was doing to figure out the next steps in the process of moving his life to Phoenix for at least a few months.

Anyone who has ever played a game of Call of Duty anyone who tries to stop while this is happening knows the chaos it can cause. He did not specify whether they were playing in teams or in a free-for-all. The first one would be much more chaotic stopping in the middle.

O’Neale was the key player in a three-team exchange involving the Nets, Suns and Memphis Grizzlies in the hours leading up to the Feb. 8 trade deadline. It was no surprise he was dealt as he is a winger who can shoot in the final season of his contract with a $9.5 million salary.

Even though he was unable to complete his Call of Duty game after the deal, O’Neale has settled in well with the Suns. The 30-year-old is averaging 9.0 points on 38.6 percent three-point shooting and 6.1 rebounds per game in seven appearances.
