The city of San Francisco has come under fire over the past year due to a scourge of crime and open drug use that has residents and businesses scrambling for help and answers to combat it.
The conversation has even seeped into the sports world in recent months.

Former San Francisco Giants star Buster Posey said the “state of the city” was a problem as the team tried to woo free agents. Basketball Hall of Fame Charles Barkley made Reggie Miller realize that the town was filled with a “bunch of homeless crooks.” Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green pushed back on the remark.
Green’s teammate Kevon Looney said the fans have been nothing but great since the team moved from Oakland’s Oracle Arena to San Francisco’s Chase Center.
“My experience was really good,” Looney told Fox News Digital. “The fans have been great. Last year’s playoffs were amazing. The fans are still selling out. They show up and support us. They still show us a lot of love.”
Looney admitted that every city has its “dark side,” but he’s still a fan of the sights and sounds of the city and loves it when he takes his parents out on the town.

“I love San Francisco. Every city has its dark side and things it needs to fix,” he added. “But overall, the culture, the people, the food, the landscape remains something that attracts tourists.
“I love my family coming to town. I get to take them to different parks and different things, take them to the pier. There’s so many different things you can see here and I love it.”
Earlier this month, San Francisco was among the cities to reverse course on some of his liberal policies.
San Francisco voters passed two law enforcement measures, including one that would require welfare recipients suspected of drug use to submit to drug testing to receive benefits. San Francisco Mayor London Breed’s spokesperson, Joe Arellano, told Fox News Digital at the time that Proposition E was aimed at overturning left-wing policies.

“In recent years, City politics have shifted too far to the left,” he said. “Now it’s time to send the message that San Francisco is closed to criminals and brazen thefts will not be tolerated.”
