Davis Bertans could be headed to the San Francisco Bay Area.

NBA insider Marc Stein reported that the 31-year-old was “invited” to work out with the Golden State Warriors in order to secure an invite to training camp.

Dāvis Bertāns has been invited to work out with the Warriors as Golden State determines whether to extend a training camp invite to the Latvian sharpshooter, league sources say @TheSteinLine.
Rudy Gay earned an invite to Warriors training camp last season after similar auditions.

Bertāns split the 2023-24 season between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Charlotte Hornets. He averaged 6.7 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 43 games in 2023-24, including one as a start.

He could potentially fit into a backup role for a new-look Warriors team in 2024-25. Klay Thompson left for the Dallas Mavericks in free agency, and former All-Star Chris Paul also left for the San Antonio Spurs.

The most notable addition was Buddy Hield, who should fit into the core around Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Jonathan Kuminga. The Warriors went 46-36 and lost in the 2023-24 play-in tournament.

Bertāns could bring 45 games of playoff experience and could be a cheap addition to a team pressed by the salary cap. However, he’s not a game-changer and he’s also out of opportunities to play a role in the NBA.
