The 2024 NBA Draft has lacked consensus throughout the cycle, with many players moving up and down the draft board leading up to the event in late June. However, Alex Sarr’s value remained stable throughout the process, holding the No. 1 spot for most of the cycle until the Atlanta Hawks won the NBA Draft Lottery, for which the 7-foot-4 player declined to workout.

That led to Sarr being selected with the second overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft by the Washington Wizards who rounded out their draft class with Carlton Carrington and Kyshawn George, all of whom figure to earn massive minutes in DC this season.

After a disappointing Summer League where Sarr was mistreated by social networks, the NBA world is waiting for his debut in 2024-25 to launch his first year as a rookie. according to Fanduel has the fourth best chance to win the rookie of the year award.

The NBA unveiled its 82-game schedule for all 30 teams on Thursday, including Sarr’s debut on Oct. 24 against the defending champion Boston Celtics. It will be a tough test for the Wizards’ trio of rookies.

Sarr will likely face a heavy dose of Al Horford with Kristaps Porzingis sidelined to start the season. However, things aren’t looking up for the rookie big man. His second game will be against Jarrett Allen, Evan Mobley and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Oct. 26.
