The Washington Wizards have waived forward Eugene Omoruyi, reducing their roster to 16 players plus two-way contracts.

Omoruyi, 27, averaged 4.8 points and 2.0 rebounds per game in 43 games with the Wizards last season. He was set to make $2.2 million this year, but that amount is not guaranteed.

Omoruyi went undrafted out of Oregon in 2021 and spent time with the Mavericks, Thunder and Pistons before signing a two-way contract with Washington last July. That was converted to a standard contract in March, with a non-guaranteed salary through 2024-25.
