MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The Milwaukee Bucks are on the road, still on the West Coast. They will face the Los Angeles Lakers and you can watch the game on WMLW.

Tip-off is at 9 p.m. and coverage begins at 8:30 p.m.

Milwaukee (41-22) is coming off a blowout loss to the Golden State Warriors, but before that, they had won six in a row coming out of the All-Star break, helping them move into second place in the Conference East. The Lakers (34-30) have been hit or miss this year and currently sit in last place in the Western Conference play-in tournament.

Friday’s game will be a showdown between two of the NBA’s biggest superstars. Giannis Antetokounmpo was the league’s leading vote-getter among fans for this year’s All-Star Game, ending LeBron James’ seven-year reign. Giannis and the Eastern Conference also won the game.

LeBron is still playing at a ridiculously high level in his 21st season, averaging over 25 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists per game, while recently becoming the first player in league history to score over 40,000 points during his career. Giannis is the 78th leading scorer in NBA history, but he’s on pace to join LeBron in the all-time top ten.

It will also be an opportunity for some of the older Bucks to play against a former coach. Lakers head coach Darvin Ham was Mike Budenholzer’s top assistant for four seasons, including the 2021 championship campaign.
