PHOENIX — Many NBA stars praised Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant after Team USA’s golden triumph at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
“KD is one of the greatest of all time,” LeBron James said of Durant via Landscape.“If you look at his frame, look at his skill set, he’s one of the best players we’ve ever seen play the game of basketball. No matter what your opinion is on him or if you like him, if you really just look at basketball and say you have talent, he’s out of this world.”
The love for Durant even extends to France and San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama, who is entering his second NBA season while nearly leading his country to gold in his first Olympics.
“He became my favorite player when I was a kid… I made it clear that I wanted to learn from him [and] maybe just steal 1 or 2 of his secret techniques,” Wembanyama said (h/t Clutch points).

“He’s a unique player who’s going to be a force in this league for a long time,” Durant previously said of Wembanyama.
“Once he gets some experience, he’ll only get better.”
It’s a pretty scary thought considering the strength Wembanyama projects after his rookie season, and if Durant is able to pass on a thing or two to him, the French phenom might just push his potential ceiling higher than some anticipated.
Durant and the Suns will see the Spurs several times during the 2024-25 season, although a special meeting between the two teams will take place at the Texas basketball arena — where Durant played at the college level — on Feb. 20, 2025.
