Tracey Jackson-Davis is only in his first NBA season, but the Warriors The rookie big man brings the mindset of a seasoned veteran when it comes to recruiting a teammate.

During an interview on 95.7 Willard and Dibs of the gameJackson-Davis revealed what he said Brandin Podziemski after his rookie teammate I missed a game-tying layup with six seconds remaining Warriors defeat 125-122 At Chicago Bulls Thursday at Chase Center.

“He doesn’t lack confidence, I really like that about him[Podziemski]”Jackson-Davis told Mark Willard and Dan Dibley on Friday. “Obviously you wish he could have had that one last night, but we told him after the game, ‘There’s going to be a lot of them.’ others like that, and just to be in that situation and get those reps at the end of the game, it just shows all the work that you’ve put in.

“’You’re going to continue to shine and continue to bring that juice and that confidence to our team, because we really need it.’ He brings a lot of energy, seeing how he’s done it gives you a lot of confidence you can do the same thing.”

Jackson-Davis then revealed that the prospect wasn’t lost on him when it came to having two rookies on the final roster for a team with Golden State’s pedigree.

The 24-year-old big man revealed how he used this special moment to try to elevate Podziemski, emphasizing the fact that there will be more opportunities in these critical situations in the future.

“I was basically just telling him that you would have this opportunity again,” Jackson-Davis explained. “You’re really young in your career, me and you both are. But it’s just surreal to be out there at the end of the game, at the Chase Center, two rookies on the court, I I thought it was a surreal moment.”

While Podziemski missed a critical shot late in the fourth quarter of Thursday’s loss to the Bulls, the rookie guard was a big reason why the Warriors were even within reach of a victory in the first place.

Jackson-Davis had eight points and four rebounds against Chicago, making all three of his field goal attempts in 18 minutes of action.

As Golden State prepares for a long stretch, Podziemski and Jackson-Davis are likely we will rely heavily on with the Warriors fighting their way to a spot in the NBA playoffs.
