Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo are gearing up for a revenge tour next season. Injuries and fatigue, along with a sudden coaching change, have kept them from competing with the Boston Celtics for the title. However, one key member of the team Milwaukee Bucks was able to take over from Doc Rivers and he is named after Bobby PortisHis consistent style of play has kept his team afloat, but NBA 2k25 doesn’t seem to see his impact.
Bobby Portis has fallen to an overall rating of 80 in NBA 2k25. The Bucks center previously had an overall rating of 82 in NBA 2k24. So he was understandably baffled as to why Ronnie 2k and the rest of the game’s development team had given him that rating. The big man stressed his dismay in his latest message on X, formerly Twitter.
“I looked at the ratings of 2,000 @NBA2K @Ronnie2K lol, no way I could be worse,” he said.
How did Bobby Portis fare in the Bucks’ 2023-24 campaign?

Well, it’s safe to say he’s been the most consistent producer despite a change in philosophy between Adrian Griffin and Doc Rivers. When Giannis Antetokounmpo or Damian Lillard weren’t available, The Bucks relied on him to close out games. In fact, he played a total of 82 complete games for Milwaukee.

Sure, he saw a decline in his numbers with the Bucks. From a 14.1 points per game player, he dropped to 13.8 points per game. However, his shooting efficiency improved. Portis managed to make 50.8% of his shots in all three categories. That’s a big improvement from his previous field goal percentage of 49.6%.
When it came to rebounding, Giannis Antetokounmpo had some confidence in him. Portis grabbed 7.4 rebounds in the games he played. Granted, that’s down from last season. In the 2022-23 season, he grabbed 9.6 rebounds. That was the closest he’d come to a double-double average.
The 80 overall rating he got in NBA 2k25 isn’t the final rating he’ll get for the entire season. He can still improve his production in a way that Ronnie 2k and the rest of the game’s development team will change his overall rating. Who knows? Maybe he’ll even get a grudge against him and his numbers will skyrocket next season for the Bucks.
